Information

Feng Wu received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Xidian University in 1992, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in computer science from Harbin Institute of Technology in 1996 and 1999, respectively. He is a Professor and Vice President in the University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, China. Previously, he was a Principle Researcher and Research Manager with Microsoft Research Asia, Beijing, China.

His research interests include various aspects of video technology and artificial intelligence. He has authored or co-authored over 150 journal papers (including several dozens of IEEE Transactions papers) and top conference papers on MOBICOM, SIGIR, CVPR and ACM MM. He has over 100 granted US patents. His 15 techniques have been adopted into international video coding standards. He serves or had served as the Editor-in-Chief for IEEE Transactions on Circuits and System for Video Technology and as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Image Processing and IEEE Transactions on Multimedia. He also serves as General Chair in ICME 2019, TPC Chair in MMSP 2011, VCIP 2010 and PCM 2009.

He received the Mac Van Valkerburg award from IEEE CAS Society in 2021. He received the best paper awards in IEEE TCSVT 2009, VCIP 2016, PCM 2008, and VCIP 2007, and Best Associate Editor Award of IEEE Transactions on Image Processing in 2018.
